Fernando: “Playing for Manchester City will be a dream come true”

by

Manchester City has already confirmed 3 new signings for the new 2014-15 season and the most exciting so far has probably been the former FC Porto midfielder, Fernando. The exact transfer was not disclosed yet, but it’s been reportedly something around the 15-million euros.

The 26-year old Brazilian-born footballer was nicknamed “The Octopus” due to the way he fills in the pitch when he finds himself in good form and in his first interview as a Manchester City player he made note of his happiness for representing such a big club in such a competitive league.

In City, Fernando will meet another Brazilian midfielder who actually share the same name but with a diminutive: Fernandinho. The two can occupy very similar positions on the field, so it’s likely that we end up seeing them teaming up in several games of the upcoming season.

Fernando: “Manchester City is a very famous club in the whole World. It’s a dream to be here and I hope to become one of the most important players in this team. I know it won’t be easy to earn a spot in the starting eleven, but I’ll be working hard every single day with that goal in mind. I’ve done a good job in FC Porto over the past years and I hope to extend those kind of performances here in England“, stated the Brazilian midfielder to Manchester City‘s TV channel.

Fernando: “The player I admire the most in this club is Yaya Touré and it will definitely be a great honor to play alongside with him!”, revealed te 26-year old midfielder.
