Toni Kroos is presented in Real Madrid

Less than a week after the 2014 FIFA World Cup final that Germany so convincingly won against Argentina, Real Madrid have finally presented their first signing for 2014-15, the former Bayern Munich midfielder, Toni Kroos.

The 24-year old player signed a 6-year contract and in order to bring him to Spain, the Merengues paid a total transfer fee of 25 million euros. Kroos has reportedly rejected Bayern Munich‘s offers to renew his contract with the Bavarian club and accepted this new challenge in his career after being crowned World Champion for Germany just last week.

Kroos: “First and foremost, I want to express my sadness for Di Stéfano‘s passing. I know how important it is for Real Madrid to win titles and I believe I am the right man for this task. I also want to thank Real Madrid and Bayern Munich for giving me this opportunity and I’m delighted to have the chance to play for the most important club in the World.

Toni Kroos has gone through the typical medical tests this Thursday morning in Valdebebas and he will wear Real Madrid‘s jersey number 8 in the 2014-15 season.
