Iturbe: “I want to learn from Totti and De Rossi”

by

The Argentinian wonder kid, Juan Manuel Iturbe, signed for AS Roma earlier this week and immediately confessed his wish of following the footsteps of both Francesco Totti and Daniele De Rossi.

The 21-year old attacking midfielder has been under a contract with the Portuguese side FC Porto from 2010 until 2013, but ended up being transferred to Hellas Verona during the course of last season. In Italy and in the Serie A, Iturbe finally had the opportunity he needed to show off his incredible talent in European stages and that was why clubs like Juventus, Real Madrid and more recently AS Roma, decided to start chasing him.

Juan Manuel Iturbe signed a 5-year deal with AS Roma and the Italian club had to spend 22 million euros to bring the Argentinian player to their ranks. However, the transfer fee amount doesn’t seem to intimidate the 21-year old that much and he confessed to be eager to start training and learning from several of the team’s legends like Francesco Totti and De Rossi.

Iturbe: “Roma made a good offer to Hellas Verona and they decided this was a good opportunity to let me go. I want to keep developing as a player and I feel very lucky to be in the same team as Totti and De Rossi. I really hope to learn a lot from the time I’ll be training next to them…”, confessed the Argentinian player who used to be called as “Little Messi” when he first arrived to Europe.
