Cristiano Ronaldo: “I’m not injured anymore…”

by

Real Madrid’s pre-season works already kicked off in the beginning of last week, but some of the team’s players that were involved in this summer’s World Cup were naturally given an additional break. That has been the case of Cristiano Ronaldo, who is still enjoying his last days of vacation together with his girlfriend, Irina Shayk.

After spending some time in the paradisiacal island of Mykonos, in Greece, the Portuguese then switched to another Greek island called Creta. More recently, Ronaldo has travelled to Tokyo in Japan, in order to attend a publicity event to promote MTG‘s beauty and wellness products (MTG is a Japanese company which Ronaldo is now representing world-wide). That’s been precisely where he granted his first statements about his much-talked knee injury, as well as his expectations for Real Madrid‘s new season and the pressure that will be put on his shoulders.

Cristiano Ronaldo: “I’m very focused on the upcoming challenges. I’m already recovered from the injury I had and that’s already a distant memory for me. I feel extremely well right now..”, assured the 29-year old forward, during his presence on a publicity event held in Tokyo earlier this week.

Ronaldo: “I want to be at my best for both the UEFA Super Cup final (August 12) and the Spanish League debut (August 23-24). As usual, I’ll try to do better than last year. My goals is always the same: scoring goals and helping the team winning more titles”, pointed out the Real Madrid forward.

With the recent confirmation that Real Madrid managed to sign James Rodríguez from AS Monaco, everyone seems to agree that the Merengues will be approaching this new season with an even stronger squad than in previous years. However, Ronaldo refuses the idea that the players will feel even more pressure from now…

Ronaldo: “We always have pressure in Real Madrid. It’s not by chance that this is the most important football club in the World. I only need to focus in training in order to get the best out of myself and that’s it.”, stated the Portuguese player.

Real Madrid will kickoff its pre-season friendlies against Inter Milan on July 26, during their US pre-season tour. Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to join his teammates this Thursday or Friday (July 24 or July 25), but it’s likely that he’ll not play any game while the Merengues remain in American soil. It’s been told that CR7 will go through a special pre-season plan, in order to make sure his previous knee injury is properly treated so he may not have any relapse during the new season.
