Barcelona turn their attention to Marquinhos from PSG
After signing Jeremy Mathieu from Valencia on a 20-million euros deal (their first centre defender signing in the last 5 years), FC Barcelona is determined to continue to strengthen their defense. Apart from the French player, the Blaugranas still have with Gerard Piqué and Marc Bartra to occupy that position, as well Javier Mascherano who often drops back to fill in that role.
Earlier this week, the “Cadena del Ser” in Spain started reporting that Barça will insist once again on trying to bring Marquinhos to the Condal City and that they are now hoping for PSG‘s increased willingness to negotiate the player, after having signed David Luiz from Chelsea FC more than a month ago.
Marquinhos signed for PSG in 2013, after having completed a full season in Italy, playing AS Roma. He also earned his first cap for Brazil on October of 2013, in a friendly game against Honduras.
However and in order to convince PSG letting go the 20-year old defender, Barcelona might need to spend close to 40 million euros for Marquinhos.
