Messi is currently bonded to Barcelona at least until 2018, with a buyout clause set at an astronomic figure of 250 million euros. According to a few sources in England, Manchester City could consider breaking the world-record transfer fee to bring the Argentinian to the Barclays Premier League, but ultimately they would always have to rely on Lionel Messi‘s willingness to leave Spain and Barcelona.
