Eden Hazard signs a new contract with Chelsea until 2020

Eden Hazard has finally renewed his contract with Chelsea FC, after the club announced that the player extended his current contract until 2020. The Belgium star was signed back in 2012 when the London club decided to pay close to 40 million euros to Lille for the promising talent and ever since, he has been increasing his influence in Chelsea week after week, especially after José Mourinho arrived to the club in 2013.

This season only, Hazard has already scored 14 goals in 36 appearances for Chelsea and he’s currently one of the club’s most valuable assets.

Hazard: “I feel extremely well since I got here. The coach is great, the fans are great and I love the teammates I have around me. I always try to help the team the best way I can and it’s good to know my work is being appreciated”, commented the 24-year old moments after his contract extension was announced.

Who also issued a few words about the Belgium wonder kid was Chelsea‘s manager, José Mourinho. In a few words, the Portuguese manager revealed his huge belief in Hazard‘s potential.

José Mourinho: “I’m very happy that he renewed his bond with the club. It shows us that he believes in his coaching staff and in his teammates in order to help him become the best player in the world. He’s still very young and I truly believe he still has the capacity to become the number one in the world”, stated the former Real Madrid and Inter Milan coach.
