PSG clear favourites to win the Champions League

by

Everyone expects PSG to win every competition they play in this season, including the UEFA Champions League. And rightly so! Especially after spending so much money in the summer transfer window and they could even be spending more money next January. Manager Unai Emery knows what the club expects of him and failure to deliver could lead to a sack. PSG are one of the favourites according to William Hill app ever since the signing of Neymar.

Carlo Ancelotti already got the hammer with Bayern Munich after losing to PSG. Bayern Munich directors could not stomach a 3-0 away defeat to PSG and had to sack the Italian manager. PSG’s owners are not very likely to show any compassion should Unai Emery also fail doing his job. The signs however, look good so far. With 3 wins in 3 Champions League games played so far, PSG look on course to become the Champions League winner at the end of the season.

With Arsenal out of the way paving their own way in the Europa League in a convincing fashion according to multiple Arsenal blogs, Real Madrid, Barça and Bayern Munich (should their new manager be able to turn around their fortunes) will be PSG main rivals for the Champions League. But none of them are without their own problems so far this season.

Bayern Munich, as mentioned, just sacked their manager Carlo Ancelotti and have not been doing well in the Bundesliga so far this season. As of the time of writing this article, they sit two points behind Borussia Dortmund, who have won their first seven games of the season so far.

Real Madrid themselves have been having their own problems in La Liga. They have lost one and drawn two of their first seven La Liga matches so far this season and are 5 points behind Barça, who are now bookies favorites to win La Liga.

Barça on their part, having had a poor summer transfer window, have done incredibly well in both the Champions League and La Liga, but for how long? They are as usual heavily dependent on Messi, but what happens if he gets injured? PSG have Neymar, Cavani, Di Maria, Mbappe and Draxler, but for Barça, aside Messi they have the likes of Luis Suarez who hasn’t been himself for a while now. They also have Iniesta who is quite old these days and not as reliable as he used to be.

Chelsea, Manchester United, Juventus and Dortmund are some of the other teams capable of challenging PSG for the Champions League but in our opinion, I will be very surprised if PSG do not become the next European champions.
