Chelsea pre-season schedule in 2014-2015

José Mourinho is embarking on a new season with Chelsea FC and judging from the signings the club has made so far, the bar is being set very high. The Blues finished the English Premier League in 3rd place last season, behind Liverpool and the champions Manchester City. This year the biggest challenge is to reclaim the English throne, but at the same time also set the sights on the UEFA Champions League dream.

Unlike what happened last season, Chelsea won’t be going on a tour to the United States this year, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they won’t be traveling a lot either. José Mourinho‘s men kicked off their friendlies games on July 16 against Wycombee, in a match where they easily dominated and beat their opponents with a clear 5-0 win.

Many of Chelsea‘s first team players are still on vacation these days, since the World Cup only ended roughly a week ago and some of the club’s athletes were involved in the later stages of the tournament.

As it’s been happening with many other teams across Europe, Manchester United started their pre-season trainings on July 7, but with a lot of key players still missing due to their World Cup involvement.

Besides having 3 games scheduled to be played in England, Chelsea‘s pre-season will also include fixtures in Austria, Slovenia, Netherlands, Germany and Hungary. Mourinho will have plenty of opportunities to see his men in action in the weeks ahead, since the club has decided to plan a total of 8 friendlies for their pre-season agenda in this year. Chelsea‘s debut in the English Premier League will be an away fixture against Burnley, on August 18.
