Real Madrid pre-season schedule in 2014-2015

Real Madrid are arriving into this new season hoping to do even better than last season, where they’ve managed to win the 10th UEFA Champions League in the club’s history. Claiming back the league title in Spain will be one of the Merengues‘ priorities, but chasing an always difficult back-to-back success in Europe will surely also be in their sight.

Carlo Ancelotti‘s men started their pre-season on July 14 in Valdebebas, but most of the first team players were still absent due to their late World Cup involvement, earlier this summer.

This Monday (July 21), Real Madrid flies over to the United States for their pre-season tour abroad. In American soil, the new European champions are expected to play 3 to 4 friendlies in the ICC (International Champions Cup) tournament. They’ll then return to Europe in the beginning of August, in order to prepare themselves for the first official clash of the season, as they take on Sevilla for the UEFA Super Cup on August 12, in Cardiff (Wales).

However, Real Madrid‘s pre-season in 2014-2015 doesn’t exactly ends by then and the club will still play another friendly 4 days after that final against Sevilla, this time against Fiorentina, in a match that will be held Poland (on August 16). As usual, the last pre-season friendly will be at the Santiago Bernabéu, where this year the Merengues will face River Plate. There’s still no date confirmed for that game, but it’s likely to be played in the second half of the month of August.

The Spanish League kicks off in the weekend of 22-23 of August.
