Manchester United sets Edinson Cavani as their new target

by

It’s no surprise to anyone that Manchester United is on the market looking for a new forward. They’ve only signed two players this summer, those being Athletic Bilbao‘s midfielder Ander Herrera and Southampton‘s full-back, Luke Shaw. They already splashed more roughly 56 million pounds for bringing those two players, but according to reports from England, it seems like the Glazer family is decided to keep investing money in order to strengthen the team for the upcoming season.

PSG‘s forward Edinson Cavani has become the Red Devils‘ main target for the weeks we have left in this transfer window and it was the Uruguayan himself who preferred not to close the doors for a move when Manchester United‘s name was spoken to him during a short interview.

Cavani: “I feel good at Paris, but having in mind how the transfer window is evolving these days, anything can happen in the future”, stated the 27-year old.

The Uruguay international joined PSG at the end of last season, after the French club decided to pay close to 64 million euros for his services. According to the rumors coming from both England and France, Manchester United may need to pay the exact sum of money if they are serious about their intentions of bringing Cavani to Old Trafford. Including one or two players in the deal is also an option, but it will probably be a lot harder for the two clubs to reach an agreement on that basis.

Manchester United kicks off with their US pre-season tour later tonight (July 23), as they will take on the LA Galaxy at the Rose Bowl Stadium.
