Ronaldinho says goodbye to Atletico Mineiro

by

Ronaldinho Gaúcho has come to an agreement with Atletico Mineiro, through which he will terminate his current contract with the club, and that will immediately set him loose to start negotiating his free transfer to any other club he may want, with Besiktas and Boca Juniors allegedly being already on the front line.

The end of Ronaldinho‘s bond with Atletico Mineiro was reached amicably, even though it would already be expiring next December. The latest talks were carried through on a meeting between Atletico Mineiro‘s president, Alexandre Kali, and Ronaldinho‘s brother and agent, Roberto Assis.

Over roughly 2 years he played for Atletico Mineiro, Ronaldinho won a total of 3 trophies, those being the Copa Libertadores (2013), the Campeonato Mineiro (2013) and more recently the Recopa Sudamericana (2014).

The former FC Barcelona superstar (2003-2008) had a total of 80 appearances for the “Galo” (Atletico Mineiro‘s nickname), in which he managed to score 28 goals throughout 2012, 2013 and 2014.
