Griezmann is presented in Atletico Madrid

Atletico Madrid may have lost key players from last season during the current transfer window, but they sure found a quality reinforcement in Antoine Griezmann, the former Real Sociedad winger.
The French player signed a 6-year deal with the Colchoneros just a few days ago, after Atletico Madrid have reportedly met the buy-out clause set at 30 million euros. Griezmann is now expected to join his new teammates in the next days, as the club continues with their pre-season in South America.
Earlier this Thursday, Griezmann was presented as a new Atletico Madrid player, in a ceremony held at the Vicente Calderón, after the Frenchman has undergone the usual medical tests.
Griezmann: “Atletico has always shown their interest over me. This is a great club, behind a great project. This is also a team who is currently the Spanish champions and the vice-champions of Europe. I didn’t think twice, I told them yes right from the start!”, stated the 23-year old in his first official statement as a Colchonero.
Griezmann: “I came here first and foremost to learn, as I felt I need to take my career to another level and this was the best option. I hope to get the chance to learn a lot from my teammates and my coach. I’m very ambitious and I want to fight for all the titles. However and as my new coach likes to say, we have to think game by game.”
Atletico Madrid first official fixture this season will be on August 19 against Real Madrid in the Santiago Bernabéu, for the first leg of the Spanish Super Cup. The two sides will meet again 3 days later for the 2nd leg (August 22), this time at the Vicente Calderón.
