Mancini believes Liverpool is Balotelli’s last opportunity

by

Mario Balotelli signed for Liverpool this past summer, but his first performances for the club haven’t exactly convinced the vast majority of the fans at Anfield. The Italian forward is yet to score in the Barclays Premier League after having already completed 5 appearances and his only goal so far came in a UEFA Champions League game against Ludogorets Razgrad.

In hist first 8 games played for Liverpool, Balotelli only scored a single goal. In his previous spell in England and representing Manchester City, he had 80 appearances and 30 goals for the Citizens.

Roberto Mancini: “Mario is a good boy, but he’s probably well aware that this opportunity he’s having in Liverpool is his last one to prove himself on the pitch. It’s his final chance… We still exchange messages from time to time, but at this stage of his career, it’s only up to him to follow a different path. Nevertheless, he told me he’s motivated to do well for Liverpool and that means he’ll be trying to score as many goals as possible”, stated the former Inter Milan and Man City manager.

Liverpool‘s next game is against the Queens Park Rangers on October 19. The Reds are desperate to get back in the winning track and improve their current 9th place in the Barclays Premier League standings.
