Guardiola loses his temper with a female referee

by

Since the beginning of his coaching career, Pep Guardiola has always tried to preserve an image of a well-behaved man. We all remember his multiple disagreements with José Mourinho when the two managers were in Spain at the helm of Barcelona and Real Madrid, with Pep always trying to play the “nice boy” role no matter what the circumstance was.

Several years have passed since their last confrontations in La Liga and this past weekend, it was time for Guardiola to also show the world that he’s no different than others and he also has some bad manners when he’s put under pressure.

During a game between Borussia Monchengladbach and Bayern Munich for the Bundesliga and which ended up finishing with a goalless draw, Pep Guardiola had an hostile reaction against the fourth referee that was standing near the sideline apparently only doing his job…

What makes it even more open to criticism is the fact that the 4th referee was actually a woman (Bibiana Steinhaus). Pep was reportedly displeased with the way a few Borussia Monchengladbach players were wasting time and once he took it to the 4th referee, he simply didn’t receive the answer he was looking for. He then decided to react with a bit of an aggressive gesture, which led to many people in Germany to immediately condone his action.
