Chelsea prepares to offer a new contract to José Mourinho

by

Over the last few weeks, there have been a few insisting rumors about a possible interest from FC Barcelona in signing José Mourinho. The Spanish club has been going through a rough patch lately and Luis Enrique is yet to fully convince those who deposited a good amount of trust in him.

With that in mind and judging from a few reports that came to public in England, it seems that Chelsea has rushed into renegotiating their current deal with José Mourinho, which is still valid for the next two seasons and a half (expires in 2017). According to the Express, the Barclays Premier League leaders are preparing a millionaire offer to the “Special One“.

Mourinho is reportedly on a £8.37 million (pounds) a year contract, which currently makes of him the second best paid football manager in the World, only behind Bayern Munich‘s Pep Guardiola. If this deal does move forward, the Portuguese coach will most likely dethrone his professional colleague for this very particular ranking.

José Mourinho: “I’m not here in this club thinking about what will be my next move, quite simply because I don’t have a next move anytime soon. That will only happen if and when Chelsea decide it’s the time to move on. I’m here to stay. I belong to Chelsea and Chelsea belongs to me“, stated the Portuguese manager when attesting his love for the club.
